shipping
Intirium works exclusively with professional freight forwarders dedicated to the luxury furniture industry and offers reliable delivery service throughout the United States. Most customers choose white-glove delivery service for convenience and peace of mind. We ship direct from Italy to ports throughout the US. Air freight is also available. All shipping quotations include delivery, while insurance is itemised separately. To provide you with a personal shipping quotation, we simply require your delivery address and ZIP code.

Customer Service is extremely important to us; we are totally committed to providing the best possible service, professional advice and fast reliable information. This includes information about US tariff and taxes where applicable.
currency
Intirium prefers to quote in Euros. We believe our customers want the best possible price and if we were to quote in US Dollars, we would have to increase our prices to take account of currency fluctuations. However, if required, we will quote in US Dollars.
export packing
We ship in manufacturers’ original cartons and where necessary, to avoid damage in transit, we will quote for made-to-measure wood crates made by a specialist company in Milan. We do our utmost to ensure that all furniture is well protected.
tariff
US tariff on most furniture imports from the EU is 10%. This is payable when the goods enter the US. The procedure is simple and well managed by our forwarder’s customs agents; we will be pleased to explain how this works.
tax & duty
Most furniture shipped from Europe to USA is free of duty. If you order a sofa, table & chairs, there would be no duty to pay. (Carpets, lighting & mirrors attract duty at around 8%) Where duty is applicable, we shall notify you.
customs inspection
Customs inspections are rare & random although these days, with increased security at ports throughout the world, they do occur. In the unlikely event that your goods are selected by customs for a security inspection, you would be liable for the costs, payable to the local agent when the goods are cleared.
delivery arrangements
Our aim is always to offer the best possible service at the best possible price and this applies to delivery too. We always quote shipping with delivery included. Simple delivery means curb-side or door delivery but most customers require full white glove delivery with removal of debris. It is important when quoting for white glove delivery that we understand your access arrangements – for example, if stairs are involved.
curb-side delivery
Standard delivery is a one-man service. This means that the driver will deliver to your curb-side or door only, which means you may need to have help on-hand to assist in carrying the carton/s inside your building. Larger items are often heavy and bulky and must be carried with care.
in-house ‘white glove’ delivery
We will be happy to arrange white glove delivery. To enable us to quote accurately, please provide details concerning access like narrow doorways or stairs? What floor do the goods have to get to and is the elevator large enough? For large and/or heavy items like sofas and marble top tables, please consider the size of your elevator cabin and width of entrance. If any goods need to be carried upstairs, it is important to consider the width of the staircase & turns. White Glove delivery includes unpacking, simple assembly, positioning of furniture in situ and removal of debris – unless otherwise stated. payment terms
We require 40% deposit with order & the balance just prior to shipping. We accept payment by credit card: Master Card, Visa and American Express. We also accept payment by wire transfer. See payment terms.
